Through The Years with My Little Pony

Marin sadly looked up at me tonight and said, "Christmas is over at our house." We took down the last of the decorations and it is finally sinking in that yes, Christmas is indeed over. Sad.
I promise I will post some yuletide pics soon, but for now, a commentary on My Little Pony. While in California, my mom pulled out a pony that I used to play with back in the day and we couldn't help but notice how different it was from a modern day pony (I would know because Marin has a whole collection).
It's interesting that even this toy has followed some of the style trends and morphed into the mold of modern beauty. So, without much ado...

Marin's Pony

Notice the curved matronly lines of the elder pony compared to the trim, sleek and dare I say sassy lines of the youngster. Marin's pony looks like she does pilates and yoga (as evidenced by the reduced size of her behind). She also sports highlights, legs that flare at the bottom, larger more defined eyes and I'm sure she's had a "lifestyle lift". No double chins here. She's a looker (by our modern standards of course). So here's to all the My Little Ponies of the past, present and future!

Wow, clever observation!
What a difference. I noticed the difference in behind sizes immediately.
