Ode to Spring Break

So, we're exhausted after 2 days of garage sales at the Wetherell home (well really 1 1/2 days because it started pouring rain at 10:30 this morning). We made good money, but it was a lot of work. I have to say though that garage sales make for great people watching/studying. There are those who are looking for something specific and quickly leave if they don't find it. There are those who won't spend more than a dollar for anything and think you should just give your stuff away. There are the negotiators and surprising, those who pay full price. There are those whose money is eating a hole in their pocket and they just want to leave with something, anything. And then there are the addicts. I can spot them from a mile away. I want to say, "Just leave now, go back to your families and spend no more!" What can I say, it just makes me sad. So with that behind us, here's a picture of Marin getting ready for the sale. She's all into picking anything that grows and making stuff out of it. So here's a "nest" for her dog made out of grass/weeds with a "tent" pinned overhead for protection. She recently made a similar nest on her nightstand and put a note from her teacher inside.
Tyler, our neighbor, came over afterward and rough-housed with the kids, as usual.

So lots of things happened this week, including the kids' first trip to the dentist. They both loved it and don't have a clue that the dentist's office is a place many people dread. They got multiple treats but most exciting of all...a new toothbrush! Why go to the zoo when you can go to the dentist?

Yes this train was there too.

And last but not least, we went to Clay's Restaurant where you can feed yourself and some animals too. It's a very "Texas" kinda place.

Farewell spring break.
